Hey, for some reason, i've always loved the name Damian, and i thought that when i get older and someday hopefully get married someday, i'd want a little boy and to name him Damian. But somebody told me recently that it is actually another name for Satan. That kind of freaked me out, and i was a little shocked. I'm a christian, and to know that someday if/when i ever do get married and have a boy, that his name will be another name for Satan is a little weird...I looked the name up in here but it didn't really say much. I know you probably think i'm too young to be worrying about that kind of thing, but i know people that are 12 even that think about naming someone once they get old enought to get married. Anyways, if u know anythign about that name please reply back.

No, Damian is not another name for Satan...
Damian is a Greek name meaning "to tame". Satanists have no interest whatsoever in things tamed, or in people who seek to "tame" others.
The person who told you that "Damian" is another name for Satan is confusing the name with the name of the main character in the motion picture *The Omen*. Also, "Damian" sounds somewhat like "demon", which probably added to your friend's confusion regarding the name.
So much confusion. No wonder Satan laughs.

I worked with a guy named Damian. I always loved this name, and was sorry that that stupid ruined it! But soon, maybe even now, we can finally start using it without the kids knowing about that stupid movie.

Gregory Peck should be ashamed of himself. Pat Troughton (Dr Who #2), on the other hand I can cut some slack for, coz that movie wasn't too big a stretch from some of his cheesier Dr Who episodes. Plus, "Damian" and "Dalek" *almost* sound kinda alike. I was actually hoping to hear Damian childishly lisp: "Ex-therm-i-nate!"

I have been plaaning on nameing my baby boy that is due in April Damian, whenever I tell people I am going to name him Damian they trip real bad and say that Damian means Satan and that its another name for the devil... I have looked up different names for Satan and Damian wasnt on there, I think Damian is a very cute name and you should stick to it.. altho I have realized that it is a very common name...
