In Greek mythology Skylla is part of "Skylla and Charybdis". When Ulysses and his companions tried to pass the "Street of Messina" (between Calabria and Sicily), they were challenged by the sea monster Skylla and the rapids called Charybdis.
Whenever someone has to get through two difficulties in life, we say, he has to pass "Skylla and Charybdis". Which often means that there is no escape.
Skylla is the daughter of Krataiis and Phorkys.Another Skylla was the daughter of Nissos of Megara. She was in love with Minos of Crete, who was besieging Magare. So she cut off her father's red curls, that made him immortal. But Minos didn't love Skylla back, so he tied her to the backof his ship and dragged her through the seas.So these are the sad stories about Skylla. Sorry!Andy ;—)
