I have reason to believe that this is a legitimate pet form of the Irish name Maeve but would like some more information on it. Have already done a google search (thanks Nan!). Any information would be appreciated.

According to Laurence Flanagan's book 'Irish Names for Children', the usual pet form of the name variously spelled Méabh/Meadhbh/Medb, which are all Anglicized as Maeve, is Meidhbhín. I believe this would be pronounced Meh-veen or May-veen and it could probably be Anglicized Maeveen.
