my name is clancy, it is almost always used as a male name but i am female. If there are any other female clancy's, anyone who knows a female clancy or anyone who knows any nicknames for the name clancy please reply.

One of my best friend's sisters happens to be named Clancey. Sure, it's a different spelling, but it sounds the same.

Believe me, once Clancy (it's a surname) starts being used by females the parents of males will stereotype it as "feminine" and "weak" so like Madison, Mackenzie, etc. it'll mostly be used by females. That's a pattern. The name means "son of Flannchadh" - click Clancy
