The name should be spelled Čierna and means "black" in Slovak-Yiddish (check http://www.learnslovak.com/index.php?pageID=2). The pronunciation is correct.

Thank you so much!!! My grandmother's background (ethnically) is actually Lithuanian, but this makes sense.
