I have located several Netha's through my years, no one seems to know the origin. The African's have a coming of age ceremony for men that is called Nitha and pronounced the same as mine (long e)thought maybe it could be for a female coming of age ceremony???

I knew a Netha (pronounced NEE-ta) whose name was short for Agnet(h)a; there seems to be no language-related reason why Nitha should be male and Netha female. Which part of Africa are you referring to?
