Might it be a variant of Aaliyah? If your name was from a non-Arabic speaking part of Africa that was Muslim, it is likely that the original Arab name would be pronounced slightly differently, since it would be dificult for non-Arab speakers to pronounce. It means "lofty" or "sublime" according to the database. That sounds like the perfect name for a princess to me ^_^.

The closest I can get is Olya, but that's Russian (and I believe it's the pet form of Olga).
