Meaning of Hyla
I have seen a few people ask the origin of the name Hyla. My aunt also has this name. The hebrew characters for the name of the prophet Elijah are: h-y-l-a. Besides being the hebrew spelling, every letter in the hebrew alphabet has a seperate meaning. Together they mean something to the effect of" G-d's authority works by grace". It's a very beautiful name.

Umm...really?
Looking over the letters you wrote, it took me some time to see that those were the letters in Elijah (Eliyahu) but backwards and missing the vav at the end. And I didn't know every letter has a separate meaning. Names are made out of words, and they're el (God) and Yah (half of God's name, I don't write it). So it means that [God's name] is God. And Hyla is just Eliyah(u) backwards. If Hyla actually did come from Eliyahu, and not something else.

Are you sure? Hebrew script is written right to left, so אֱלִיָּהוּ is actually aleph-lamed-yod-he-vav without the points when read in the proper order, though it is rarely written without the vav.
Hyla is actually from the Greek for Forest.
