This definition of the name also agrees with the definition of "the fugitive", as given in *Goddesses in World Mythology: A Biographical Dictionary*. Dido was also an eastern goddess of the dawn and twilight mists, and her name meant "the fugitive" because of the fleeting time between day and night.
