How do we get a legitimate name onto the main name list?
I submitted Schuyler through the submit-a-name link but it hasn't been added. It is shown as a source for Skyler, so I think it should also be shown as its own name. Much like Irish names that have been anglicized by English speakers, the original name and pronounciation should be honored as well. I know that it was originally a Dutch surname and that English speakers have spelled it somewhat phonetically as Skyler. I know that the original name was not pronounced as SKY-ler but rather with a G sound that English speakers do not use. So what do you think of the entry? Could anyone from the Netherlands add any more info to the definition?SCHUYLER
Gender: Masculine & Feminine
Usage: Dutch
Pronounced: SKY-ler (in English)
Anglicized Forms: Skyler, Skylar, Skylor

This name is used in English. Its source is "schuiler", a Dutch word meaning "Scholar, protection."
