Minea is a Frisian extended form of Mine, which is a short form of names ending in -mine like e.g. Wilhelmine, Hermine, Tomine, Benjamine, Rasmine etc.
The -ea ending is to be found in many other Frisian names as well, e.g. Fraukea, Rikea, Talkea, Neelkea, Talea etc.

Thank you, interesting that the name Minea is now discussed on Swedish name sites. I never heard of the name before, except in Waltari's novel.
Though I doubt that Waltari got the name from Frisian, I think he thought of Minoan culture. The Minea in the book was from Crete.
