Criteria for submitting names
What are the criteria for submitting names? I'm thinking of submitting Luneta, a variant of Eluned/Lunete/etc, but I've only seen it used in a fictional novel (the lioness and her knight by gerald morris). Not sure if that's "real" enough.

For purely fictional names, the requirement is that the name must be notable enough. A general rule of thumb is that the fictional character should be notable enough to have a page on Wikipedia.org (or a dedicated subsection on a page). Wikipedia has a lot of editors who vigorously debate notability, so they can "do the work" in a way for the small pool of editors here.
Of course, if you can find any real bearers then you can submit the name on that basis.

A search on Facebook showed me that the name Luneta indeed exists, as there are easily a dozen real-looking profiles of women with this name there, mostly from the Philippines.
But of course with that the name could still be really, really rare.
