Both my great-grandmothers on my mother's side were named Christiana. They were born in the 19th century, in England. My grandmother explained that the hero of the book Pilgrim's Progress is named Christian, and it was very frequently given as a Sunday-School prize; there was a follow-up book about Christian's wife, unconvincingly but understandably named Christiana.
