In Afrikaans it's the word for "son" and is often used as a nickname, even well into adult life. Which gives charming names like Oom Seun (= Uncle Son) ... but to my knowledge it's never used as a given name.
Seun is pronounced to rhyme, approximately, with "tune" or with the same vowel as in Eww!
