The name LeRoy is not pronounced 'lee' roy' as you state in your notes. It should be pronounced 'la Roy' as a variation of the French 'la Roi' as would be the pronounciation for the 'the king'. You have made a very common assumption that the names 'LeRoy' and 'LeRoy' are pronounced the same and they are not. Additionally, my attempt to spell LeRoy as above with a lower case 'r', has met with an impossibility, whereas and most often, I am prohibited from spelling my name with an upper case 'R'.

It's not "la Roi" (feminine article with masculine noun). This is impossible in French.
It is "le Roi" (masculine article with masculine noun).
And the French pronunciation of "le Roi" has almost nothing in common with the English pronunciation of Leroy, nor does it have to.
