Lovisa used in the southern USA during the 19th century.
Lovisa is a Swedish form of
Louisa, but was also used as an alternate form of
Louisa in the USA, pronounced "luh-VY-suh". It was also spelled Levisa and Lavisa; there is a river in Kentucky and
Virginia called the Levisa
River, which is named after
Louisa, the Duchess of Cumberland.
