Meaning of the name Ketevan?
Ketevan is the real first name of the singer Katie Melua. She is originally from Georgia (near Russia). I've searched Ketevan and I know it was the name of a queen and Christian martyr, but I have not found the meaning.

I found a hint:
"A large number of Persian names came into Georgian from the versions of the Šâh-nâma: Givi (< Gêv); Goderdz-i (< Gôdarz); Zurab-i (< Sohrâb); Ketevan (< Katâyûn); Zaal (< Zâl; cf. the family name Zaldastanishvili), etc."

Thank you, but what does Katayun mean?
Ketevan may come from the Persian Katayun but then I don't know what Katayun means.

According to Muslim & Parsi Names by Maneka Gandhi & Ozair Husain, Katayun meant "learned."
I KNEW it sounded Caucasian! (Caucasus Mt range includes Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan)
