There's a feminine variant pronounced SHEE-va but I'm not sure of the history or origin. I would imagine it has nothing to do with Hinduism. After all, there's the Hindu Shiva and the Jewish Shiva and they have nothing to do with each other. So does anyone know where it could come from?
