I think this is the pronunciation I'd use because not only did you guess that, but I ended up finding that same pronunciation, finally, on another website.
If it's a Germanic name, the "e" probably wouldn't make the "ay" sound. I was thinking it was a Spanish name.

Probably something along ah-VE-zah or ah-VE-sah. The "z" letter in such a position is unusual for German names and would probably lead to different pronounciations.
As a germanic name it has initial stress. I'm not sure about the pronounciation of the letter z, but for a high german name it will be /ts/. The letter e is either a clean /e/ sound (like in bed) or a shwa. So my best gues is AH-ve-tsa.
