The Origin of My Name?
Hi, trying to find the origin of my own name - it is Samanbar, and i wanted to know what it means, i'm pretty sure it's persian , my mother is half persianthrough my grandmother (deceased), but raised in britain, she said has no idea what it means, she can't even remember exactly what the story was about but she took the name from a story she was told as a child about a persian woman with this name.
I can't find anything on the internet.
Please help, what story is it from, and what does it mean?

According to Muslim & Parsi Names by Maneka Gandhi & Ozair Husain, Samanbar is a Persian name meaning "jasmine bosomed."

Reply to: What does the name Liore mean by Alena Lior means "my light" or "light for me". Liora is a female form. :)
However, Miss Claire was giving a Hebrew derivation, which wouldn't work for a Persian origin.
