For Tarsila I found the following text that mentions it:

Basically it gives a theory that Tarsila is derived from the geographical name Tarsus.

The Academy of St Gabriel do definitely know what they're talking about. :) I've met some of them in real life and know quite a few more on the internet. They're affiliated with the Society for Creative Anachronism and they're pretty hardcore scholars very concerned about authenticity and accuracy.
