Archivesinfo on the name "Fjola"
My Grandmother was from Iceland and her name was FJOLA. I would like to know what it means. For some reason I always assumed it was Icelandic for Violet but I'd like to know for sure.

Also, there are two flags on the page that I don't recognise. One is red with a green cross; the other is red with a white symbol. What kinds of flags are they?

No, I don't speak Jamska, but I can read it as it is very close to Swedish and Norwegian as you can see. - And I didn't promise to ANSWER in Jamska ;) - I think Swedish would do!
The red flag with the green cross is the flag of Bornholm (Danish island)
