Handoyo is a Javanese name from Indonesia. In Indonesia (especially in Javanese), Handoyo's name means innovative and independent, determinded and courageous, sincere person. It may be a name from Suriname with the same meaning as Indonesian name, since there were large numbers of Javanese people migrated to Suriname by the Dutch to work on plantations during the late 19th and early 20th-centuries.
