my name is marzetta, and i have no idea what my name means. i am biracial female, but i have searched for other marzetta's and their pictures represent them as white/hispanic/other ethnic backgrounds. many think that i am named after the "marzetti's" salad dressing, but i'm pretty sure that i am not. i have wondered all my life about what my name means, or where it comes from. my mother said she heard the name from someone who knew someone who knew someone (etc) that had this name. my birthday is next week, and it would be the perfect birthday present if i could know where the name originated from and what it means. recently, i have heard everything from it being a italian, spanish, french or jewish. some people have no idea what they are talking about when they give me reasons for why they believe my name orignates from a certain region, but i hope that someone here can truely help me out, and give me the source of where they found that information (i've recently found other "marzetta"'s and they do not know the orgin/meaning either). again, it would be the best birthday present ever.
