I spell my name with 2 r's
I had an aunt that was named Beulah Berrenice and a cousin named Berrenice both (black females). We always used 2 r's. when spelling the name. Is there any significant to using 2 r's in spelling the name. Whenever, do research I always find the spelling I found on your web page.
My aunt a black female lived in New York but was born in Alabama. My mother told me that my aunt's father was named Berrenice.
Is there a male and female spelling for this name.
I pronounce it ber-ree-nice.
Any information you can find will be appreciated.

I am just like you. However, my name is Collette and it's traditionally spelled as Colette. I guess it's just a personal preference about the spelling and nothing too special, sorry.
