Hm, but my Polly's a white woman--British, to be specific. Oh well. I'm still not giving up the name quite yet, at least until I either get a few more answers here (or a sufficient time passes and it becomes clear no one else will respond) or find the answer on my own.It's good to know Egnell's a real last name at least. I've always liked Egbert (I know, I'm weird), and I thought Egnell has the same cool Eg- beginning but has a special meaning for me. I'll use it regardless, but, as I said, it'd be nice to know the meaning.Miranda
