I think all these meanings are correct; jsut variations of each other. I would rule out "peaceful island", it seems like someone randomly expanded on the idea of something near the water. It seems to refer to land near water (like marsh) and filled with linden trees. If there was a Lindsay location in Lincolnshire, it'd explain why Lindsay is called "Lincoln's" marsh.
