Earlier today when I was on Facebook, I came across the name
Yoriel. The bearer was a man of Hispanic descent, and a search on Facebook learned that there are more men with this name - and nearly all of them are of Hispanic descent. The same goes for its variant spelling
Joriel.
To me, it seems like this is a Hebrew name, with
el meaning "God". Is this true? If so, what is the name's meaning?
An other possibility is that the name is a combination of two names (as is common in Hispanic countries), like
Josimar (see the Submitted Names Database for that one). In the case of Yoriel, it could be a combination of - for example -
Yolanda and
Gabriel?
I hope some of you can shed more light on this - thank you in advance for the information that you are able to give to me. :)
