MICHA is a German name indeed. In most cases, I guess, it was given as a short form of MICHAEL. In other cases it was taken directly from the biblical name MICHA (Micah), which of course is the same in Hebrew.
Wilfried Seibicke lists some 100 bearers of the name in his Historisches Deutsches Vornamenbuch, but of course these are just the ones he was able to collect. Still this indicates that the name is fairly rare in Germany. It is impossible, though, to find out whether the parents of these MICHAs understood the name of their children (2 girls amongst them!) as a short form of MICHAEL or if they took it right from the Bible.
It is pretty hard to explain the pronunciation of the CH to an English speaking person. So, as delphine suggests, listen to nordicnames.de
