How do you say the name Micha?
At first I thought it was said like Mischa but then I started to think it was more like Micah. So which is the right one?
Its Male and I first heard of it on a German actor.
Thanks!

MICHA is a German name indeed. In most cases, I guess, it was given as a short form of MICHAEL. In other cases it was taken directly from the biblical name MICHA (Micah), which of course is the same in Hebrew.
Wilfried Seibicke lists some 100 bearers of the name in his Historisches Deutsches Vornamenbuch, but of course these are just the ones he was able to collect. Still this indicates that the name is fairly rare in Germany. It is impossible, though, to find out whether the parents of these MICHAs understood the name of their children (2 girls amongst them!) as a short form of MICHAEL or if they took it right from the Bible.
It is pretty hard to explain the pronunciation of the CH to an English speaking person. So, as delphine suggests, listen to nordicnames.de

As far as I know, and please correct me if I'm wrong, in Germany Micha is a male short form of Michael. And it's pronounced like Michael, without the -el part at the end.
I found this site where you can listen to the pronunciation of Michael. It's about 2/3 down.

In German, the CH can have two different pronunciations [ç] (like the H in the English hue) and [x] (like the Spanish J), according to positions and to dialects, and in some dialects it also appears the sound [k]. The [x] can sound like [k] to speakers of languages whithout that sound, so probably this is the case with Micha.
Anyway, one of the German members (Andy, _satu_, Rene) can clarify the correct pronunciation.

It's the first
I think most Germans (including me) would pronounce this with the [ç] sound which is the same sound we use for German Michael. I have only seen Micha as a nickname for Michael in Germany.
You can listen to the German pronunciation of Michael here: http://www.nordicnames.de/Aussprache.html
There are two versions with different endings but the Micha part stays the same.

Since Micha is an OT name,
perhaps its use is more typical among Jewish people, whereas among the rest of population is more common Micha as nickname for Michael (and that is just a guess).
The German version of Wikipedia lists people with Micha as full name and as nickname:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micha
