My book says it's a South Slavic name with the element 'mir', which means 'peace'. (compare Miroslav / Vladimir) Mirjana seems to be the feminine form of Mirjan,(source: Spectrum voornamenbooek)

That's about it, only the form Miran is much more frequently used.
