My aunt's name is Kleone. My grandmother's middle name is Cleone (my aunt is an identical twin and my grandma wanted their names to start with the same letter so she changed the C in her middle name to a K for my aunt's first name). I know almost nothing about the background to the name except that my grandmother's ancestors were Scottish/English and I've been told the name has some "historical" useage and is no longer very common today. I've seen the name one other time, also like my grandma, used as a middle name (one of my English ancestors). I suspect its probably Old English or Gaelic.
Can anyone tell me what it means?
Thanks,
Elwyn
