Where did you get the idea that Demetrius is "popular" only in Alabama?
As far as I know Demetrius has been fairly common among African-Americans all across the USA. On statewide lists it probably would rise higher in Alabama than in many other states just because the percentage of babies born in Alabama who are African-American is higher than in most other states.
