Hermione = well-born?
I've seen the name Hermione (female, Greek) translated as "well-born" by a number of baby-name dictionaries. However, I can't find anything to support this; it seems pretty obvious that the name is the feminine form of Hermes, which itself has nothing to do with being well-born, as far as I know. I've looked through Greek dictionaries and can't find anything even vaguely sounding like any portion of the word "Hermione" meaning "well" or "born". Does anyone know if there's truth to this definition, or was it just made up?
