Hopla of West Wales
I am still seeking the origin of the surname HOPLA / HOPLAH.
It may have of first appeared in Steynton, West Wales, were the will of William HOPLA of Castell Pill, in the parish of Steynton, West Wales was lodged in 1624.
But the main reference to the family is Stephen Hopla who was born in 1762 at Grove, Pembroke. And he married Elizabeth Coscar on the 30th November 1786 at St Nicholas, Monkton, Pembroke.
So if anyone can add any further references or can tell me the origin of the surname HOPLA it would be greatly appreciated :-)
