Archivesname derivitive
Alot of names were brought to England by the Normans, e.g. Archibald, but where is the Norman history of the name?????

I don't know about all the names brought to England by the Normans that are on this site, but in the case of Archibald the history is that it is a Germanic name composed of the elements "ercan" and "bald". It isn't a Norman name, but it was used by the Normans.
