I'm reading the House of Night novels, and there is a character by this name. I'm wondering if it's a legit name? I can't really find it anywhere, but I did find this:

Which says Nefer means beautiful, and -et would make it feminine.

Also, how would it be pronounced?

I'd probably say NEF-er-et. Nobody knows how to pronounce ancient Egyptian languages, they only know how to read them, so even a "legit" pronounciation is really a guess.

Well, I don't know how it would be pronounced today, but I can tell you what I think sounds like. Based on other nefer- names, ( Nefertiti, Nefertari, Neferue )I would pronounce it ne-fer-ET.
