i have a 10 year old son who I named Janson. Everyone really likes his name and I have paired it with Scott. So, Janson Scott now wants to know the meaning f his name and I can not give him an answer. I saw it once in a book and have not been able to find it again. Some say it is the same as James or John.

Janson is a surname which means "son of Jan", and Jan is one of many variations of John. See the "J" page on the Surnames board related to this site:http://surnames.behindthename.com/php/browse.php?letter=j

Janson is a surname meaning "Son of Jan," Jan being a Dutch and German form of John.
