Re: Some old nordic female names?
Hi Nestori,Hebla / Häbla / Hebbla / Häbbla are Old Swedish variant forms of Ebbelina / Ebbela, Low German short forms of Old German names starting with Eber- (meaning: boar [= strength]).
Corresponding modern name: Ebba, Ebbe etc.Liskin looks like a variant form of Lisken, which is a Low German diminutive form of Lisa / Lise, short forms for Elisabeth (try the link for the meaning).
Corresponding modern names: Lisa, Lise, Liss etc.Vendla is a Swedish short form of Vendela / Wendela which is a short form of Old German names starting with Wendel- (meaning: belonging to the tribe of the Vandals).
Corresponding modern names: Vendela, Wendi, Wendila etc.Regards, Satu
