Javier (pronounced [ha - vee - ERR])is a basque name, comming from "etcheberri": 'etche': house; 'berri': new. There are many Xavier, but also Javier, both names with the same pronunciation.

In Spanish Xavier is Javier (pronounced like HAV-ye)
