Either a Christian surname, indicating one who held the office of bishop, or as a masculine and feminine baptismal name likely deriving from the Old French for "thirsty."

I think Sidonie sounds most likely, but maybe it's even a form of Sydney or Sadie...?

Just thought of this...

Perhaps Sidelle's a combo form of Sidney / Sidonie and Elle or Ella.

Could be a variation on Sybil / Sibyl / Sibilla etc.

There's a place in West Yorkshire, England, a village called Siddel but that would be a unusual source.
