I noticed in a newspaper blog I read, a journalist refers to her daughter "Eavie" often (often enough to suggest that this is her full name - especially as "Evie" is very popular as a full name for girls here in England). Facebook has also turned up a couple of Eavas, and lots of (mostly male) Eavans.

I believe that Eavan is an anglicized spelling of the Irish name Aoibhinn (correct me if I'm wrong). Does anyone know whether Eavie/Eava are somehow related? Or are they more likely to be respellings of Evie/Eva? Or something different?
