Laitha, Laitu, Lethu, Ledi, Leda, Ladicke, Ledhe and Lete
While looking for the meaning of the Finnish surname Laitinen, I found out that it derives from the given namesLaitha, Laitu, Lethu, Ledi, Leda (Old High German)
and
Ladicke (Low German)
and
Ledhe, Lete (Old Swedish)I couldn't find any of these names in my books. The information about Laitinen I found here:http://www.suku.fi/nimet/nimi42s.htmAnd Kevlar from the surname board found them in the book "Sukunimet"Does anyone of you know any of the names?

As you probably know for yourself, Seibicke doesn’t have any of these names. So I tried to find something in my Förstemann / Kaufmann. Here are a few stems that should be considered for the names you are asking about:LAITHA (hostile), LAID (walk, wander), LATH (challenge). Possibly LAUDA (shape), LEUC (light), LEUDI (people), LIHTA (light as opposed to heavy) If you want me to, I can scrutinize Förstemann’s lists for th enames you are looking for. Just let me know.

Yes, it would be great if you could have a closer look at Förstemann's list. It really surprised me that I didn't find anything about this name which obviously must have been quite common as there existed so many different forms of it.Keine Eile, though! ;)
Danke schön!

I know Name Leda but as a greek Name!
In Germany its mostly disused cause it sounds as the German Word for Leather!
But I know none of the others :-(
If this were Names in the past, today they´re unknown here in Germany.
