Full name meanings
I've looked up my first, middle, and last name and I think it's funny how unrelated they are.My first name means "Ship victory."
Middle name - Lion (female).
Last name - High warden/hog ward/ewe herder.Maybe I should be a lion tamer, pirate, or shepherd. :D Or all three.Just out of curiosity (and boredom... not to mention procrastination), what do your first, middle, and last names mean?Energizer Bunny Arrested;
Charged with Battery.

Hm fun!Tippins I am not sure. It comes from Tipping Hall, which was something...somewhere in England? est ~1400? by a Lord Tipping or something? I do not know what it means, it sounds silly and drunken to me, or else he lived at the tip of the town.My surname seems to be derived from Daniel. So

Amanda Nicole: Lovable victory of the peopleMy surname is much more difficult because it stems from the name of an old country which was ultimately from a really old group in Europe. I haven't found a solid souce yet, but I have read one etymology that suggests that it could mean "(The Land) near the Russians." I'm willing to give someone the name of the country if they want to try researching it.

First name: Pure (possibly)
Middle name: My god is an oath. You know, after those two, I sound as if I should be in a nunnery. And last name derives from a word meaning rabbit. Doesn't fit with the other two at all. Behind the Surname says it was a nickname for a timid person. Therefore, I am a timid pure woman of god. Doesn't fit me at all.

My name means foliage fairy. If my family had kept the name from "the old country", then the last name would be son of strength. I don't know what my last name means, so that is kind of a moot point. What's interesting is that (as one can see from my posting name) I am female.By the way, Ceolsige: love the signature (so do most of the BtN :kitty: delegation.)Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

Given Pavlos' enthusiasm... (this got long and unexpectedly scholarly)I'll answer, but personally mine's a yawn. Lillian Angèle is simply "lily angel;" perhaps it makes more sense to say "lily-like angel" or "angel of lilies."My maiden name literally means "moody," as in emotionally labile (!), and my married last name literally means sands, as in desert or, more preferably, beach. Not sure how to add all those up; "emotionally labile angel of lilies in the sands," I guess, but... yikes!Just for extra flavor, here's a picture my husband thinks is nifty, of an angel on the beach; she even looks moody!
http://artbysan.com/ART/cp11.jpgAnd one I like of an angel with lilies, though no sand is involved and there is no reason to think her moody.

Heather - heather
Georgette - farmer
Last name - person from Scotland/Scotsman (fairly obvious what this is, but since it's a fairly common ln, not too worried about it)
So, I farm heather in Scotland. Better than farming heather anywhere else, I suppose. I am NOT a farmer, nor am I good with plants in any way, btw. ;)My family:

I don't know what our last name means. All I know is that it's very uncommon. As in there are only two families who came to this country whose name was changed to that spelling. One was from Cologne. According to my father in-law, their family was from Scotland. But I can do first and middle.Mine

Before I knew a lot about names, I used to "know" that Ellen meant "light", and that therefore my full name, Christine Ellen, meant Christian Light. I've gone back and forth in my religious beliefs, but at least some of the time I thought it was pretty appropriate. These days, of course, it's Christian St Elmo's Fire or Christian Torch or Christian Moon, or possibly something else as yet undiscovered. My whole name means Christian - St Elmo's Fire - Wood Home (or variants . . . I like St Elmo's Fire as a meaning!).

To put a more positive twist on it, it could be something like God promises light in the darkness.
vote up1vote down
It does - Lucifer!Lucifer was originally a light bearer of God before he "fell" and became a dark angel, according to Ludeochristian mythology!
vote up1vote down
This is of course quite shallow and has nothing to do with meaning, but my name is Lucy Keifer, and if you take out the middle three letters (this is just a word/ phonetic game) you get Lucifer. My Paradise Lost class had great fun with that one, and for some reason my name endears me to any card-carrying Goth types I happen to meet ;)
