Do you have any idea where your parents found this name? When and where were you born, and what was the ethnic background of your family?
My grandmothers name was Saleta. The family story goes. She was named for her mother's mother, Sallie. However her mother wanted to change it up and simply altered the name. I have found no other source for the name.
I realize I’m responding to a sixteen-year-old comment but it’s more for the benefit of anyone who stumbles across this forum looking for information. I also have an ancestor named Saleta; her family immigrated from Scotland and settled in North Carolina before drifting southwards to Mississippi. Very interesting
