My Mother's name is Vanecia. Her mother told her that she had made up the name using the name Vanetta and Necia when she was born in 1940 in Adelaide, South Australia.
I would like to know the origin and any associated meanings of this name.
Recently I did a general google search on the name and discovered that there were a few Americans with this name, the oldest person with this name who died recently was 91 years old.
We're of Anglo-Celtic origin, my family having been in Australia for at least 5 generations. My Grandmother's thing was to name her daughters with unusual names
