Any info on the name Cigdem
My friend at work is Turkish, her name is Cigdem, does anyone know what it means?

After consulting with the math professor who is from Turkey at my university, it seems that Cigdem is a botanical name, referring to a specific plant which is part of the onion family, though not necessarily the plant which grows our edible onions. :)
And my guess from finding this Turkish site through Google is that the "cigdem" flower is related to the crocus:

I think the English botanical name of that flower is "meadow saffron", indeed related to the crocus. E.g. note the "tags" on this Flickr page about that flower:
