For the first question, I think it's probably Ines (or Inez) too. I saw a Cold Case Files (the defunct real-life crime show hosted by Bill Kurtis on A&E, not to be confused by the ongoing fictional drama Cold Case) once where a murder victim's name was Ines or Inez (I can't remember which), pronounced IE-nes.
