I looked it up on Wikipedia and it says, that the movie takes place (I copy and pasted here) in England, A.D. 932. I don't know what happened then in English history, as well as how the inviroment were, since I'm Danish and only knows to the history/inviroment around here at that time.

I trust you with the language knowledge, since you're where you probably have it, or some branch of it, all around you. Clicked into your profile and saw where you live.
