Thank you, but I don't see any reference to "Duanel" under "Duane". I came across "Duanel" (note the "l" at the end) while indexing an article by a Cuban-American named "Duanel Diaz" and am curious as to the origen of this name. Perhaps it is a Spanish version of "Duane", but I've never come across it before and had my doubts. Any more info is appreciated.

Sorry, I did not see the "l" in your first post. I would assume that Duanel is a blend of Duane with Daniel, not Juan with Daniel. Here is a link to the home page of a graduate student in Latin American studies at Princeton named Duanel.
